DA Arrears 2025: Big update on 18 months DA arrears of central employees, know when they will get the money
DA Arrears: During the Corona epidemic, the central government had stopped 18 months of dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for lakhs of employees and pensioners, which was a big shock for them. But now a big update has come on the 18 months' DA arrears of central employees... Know in the news below when will the money be received-
Digital Desk- ( DA Arrears) During the Corona epidemic, the central government had stopped 18 months of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for lakhs of employees and pensioners, which shocked them a lot.
Employees and pensioners have been waiting for the payment of this arrears since then. Recently, the central government has clarified its stand on this issue in Parliament. However, some employees are disappointed with this statement of the government, while some are still hopeful of getting the arrears.
Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary said that three installments of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief (DR) of government employees and pensioners were stopped to reduce the economic impact of the Corona epidemic.
These installments were to be implemented from 1 January 2020, 1 July 2020 and 1 January 2021. The government had taken this decision at that time to reduce the additional burden on the treasury due to heavy pressure on the country's economy.
Financial condition improved, but…
The minister said that now the country's economic condition is better than before. The fiscal deficit was 9.2% in the financial year 2020-21, which has come down to 4.4% in the budget estimate of 2025-26. That is, the government is far from the brink of bankruptcy. Despite this, even after Covid, there was large-scale expenditure in many welfare schemes, which kept the pressure on financial resources.
Will have to wait now-
The government clearly said that in the current situation, it is not possible to pay 18 months' DA-DR arrears. That means employees and pensioners will have to wait longer for their dues. However, the government did not say that the arrears will never be paid, just that no time limit has been set for now.
Impact on the hopes of lakhs of employees-
Central employees and pensioners will not get any relief on DA-DR arrears at present. The government has made it clear that there is no plan to pay the arrears right now. Lakhs of employees were waiting for this for a long time. Employee organizations are still talking to the government on this issue, but at present there is little hope of immediate relief. However, they are likely to get their rights if the situation changes in the future.
