UP News: A new industrial hub will be built in UP by acquiring the land of farmers of 4 villages

UP News: Preparations are in full swing to build another new industrial hub in Uttar Pradesh. Land is being acquired in four villages to develop industrial areas in the state. Earlier there was disagreement over the rate of compensation to farmers in exchange for land acquisition. Now an agreement has been reached with the farmers and it will become easier to acquire 750 acres of land.

Uttar Pradesh News: This is an important step in terms of industrial development of Uttar Pradesh. The state government is constantly making efforts to expand the industrial hub in the state, and this process of acquiring 750 acres of land is a big step in that direction.

Sandila industrial area will be expanded in four villages. 75% farmers have given consent letters. Earlier there was a dispute between farmers and officials on the rate of compensation, but now 900 farmers have given consent for land acquisition. Acquisition of 750 acres of land has become easier due to this. The administration will take further action.

In view of the shortage of land required for setting up enterprises in the industrial area, the state has started the process of acquiring land related to four villages, in which consent letters are being taken from the farmers.

75 percent of the farmers have given consent letters so far. The state government has given many schemes for setting up enterprises, in which MoUs are being signed with big companies.

Why give away valuable lands?

There was no land in all the phases of the industrial area, so in January 2024, UPSIDA Kanpur Chief Executive Officer Prem Prakash Meena sent a letter to the tehsil administration and ordered to take land from the farmers of village Raison, Baghuamau, Jamsara Samodha for the expansion of the industrial area.

On March 15, 2025, a meeting of farmers was held in the auditorium of the new tehsil in the presence of UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Charchit Gaur, RM Ajay Deep, Tehsildar Nikhilesh and SDM Dr. Arunima Srivastava.

The farmers said that the local market price is about one crore twenty-five thousand per bigha, so why would they give their valuable lands at the circle rate.

Farmers will be compensated accordingly. Farmers wanted that the market value of the land of the four villages should be doubled. CIDA officials did not agree with the demands of the farmers. Despite several rounds of talks between the farmers and the officials, no agreement was reached.

The tehsil administration held continuous talks with the farmers at its level, as a result of which 900 out of 1,200 farmers of Raison, Baghuamau, Jamsara and Samodha have agreed to the land acquisition. These farmers have about 750 acres of land.

As per Land Acquisition Act

The government cannot acquire land unless 70 percent of the affected farmers in the area where land acquisition is taking place agree to give their land in writing. About 75 percent of the farmers of the four villages have given their consent in writing, which has made acquisition easier.
