142 state highways will be widened in UP, PWD department is preparing an action plan

A big announcement has recently been made by the government to reduce traffic pressure in Uttar Pradesh. The problem of traffic jams in the cities of the state will be resolved, apart from this, the general public will get easy and simple connectivity in rural areas. The state highways of the state will be widened by at least 10 meters under this project.
The problem of accidents will be reduced
The problem of accidents due to heavy traffic jams keeps coming up every day in the big cities of Uttar Pradesh. Keeping this in mind, a decision has been taken to double the roads. After the government's order, the PWD department is making a plan to widen the roads. Stations for truck parking will also be built on roads more than 50 kilometers long. After the construction of truck parking stations, the jam caused by parking trucks on the roadside will end.
Budget of more than Rs 1500 crore
The Public Works Department (PWD) of the state is planning to widen the roads. There are 142 state highways under the supervision of the PWD department. They are 10,309 km wide. An official said that the government is now making a concrete plan to expand these state highways. The PWD department has been ordered to widen these roads. Note that a proposal has been made to widen the 7 meter wide state highway to 10 meters.
There has been a decrease in road accidents every year

The road will be widened to 10 meters
The Yogi government has given orders to start work on this project quickly. All the state highways which are 7 meters wide will be widened to at least 10 meters. In the next phase, they will be widened to 10 meters and will also be connected to paved shoulders (solid edges on both sides of the road, used for parking vehicles etc.). Truck lay by will make it easier
The government is working quickly to improve poor connectivity in Uttar Pradesh. Proposals have also been sought to develop bypass, ring road or flyover in areas with more than one lakh population where traffic pressure is high. The department will create this facility only in the bodies not connected to the National Highway. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will create this infrastructure there. The government has ordered to finalize this project soon. Truck lay-by will be built on state highways whose length is more than 50 kilometers.
