CBSE का बड़ा ऐलान! अब एक साल में दो पेपर– CBSE Board New Rules 2025

CBSE Board New Rules 2025 – If you or your children are 10th class students of CBSE board, then now along with studies, the method of examination is also going to change. Yes, CBSE has taken a big decision regarding the board examination of class 10th from 2025, which will be implemented from the session of 2026. Now students will be able to take the 10th exam twice a year, not once.

CBSE Board New Rules 2025 – The purpose of this change is not only to give the children another chance, but to reduce exam stress, facilitate improvement in results and make the education system flexible under the New Education Policy (NEP 2020).

What is the complete plan of the new system?

  1. Under the new rules of CBSE Board:
  2. The first board exam will be held in February – this exam will be compulsory for every student.
  3. The second board exam will be conducted in May – it will be optional. That is, if a student is not satisfied with the marks of the first exam, then he can take the exam again in May.
  4. The exam in which the better marks are obtained will be included in the final result.
  5. Now this system will give two chances to the students – one to learn, the other to improve.

In which subjects can the exam be given again?

  1. Students will get a chance to improve marks in three main subjects. These include:
  2. Mathematics
  3. Science
  4. Social Science
  5. Language subjects like Hindi or English

The syllabus of both the exams will be the same. No semester system will be implemented. This will also ensure that the syllabus does not seem easy in one exam and difficult in the other.

  1. Practical and internal assessment – will be done only once
  2. CBSE has also clarified that practical and internal assessment for both the exams will be done only once. That is:
  3. Students will give practicals in schools before February.
  4. Whether they give the exam for the second time or not, the same marks of practical will be added to both the results.
  5. This will not make the children have to go through the same process again and again.

How will the result and certificate be received?

  1. Now there is a change here too:
  2. The result of the first exam will come in April but the passing certificate will not be available at this time.
  3. If the student wants, he will be able to download his marksheet from DigiLocker for admission in class 11th.
  4. The final marksheet and passing certificate will be issued only after the second exam.
  5. If a student does not want to take the second exam, then the marks of the first exam will be considered final.

Rules related to registration and fees

  1. The fees for both the first and second exams will have to be deposited together.
  2. Schools will have to send the List of Candidates (LOC) to CBSE in September.
  3. After the result of the first exam, the CBSE portal will open again for 5 days, so that the students who want to take the improvement exam can register.
  4. New applications will not be accepted for the second exam. That is, only those who are already registered will be able to take the exam again.

How will the students benefit from this change?

  1. If the performance in the first exam is not good, then the students can get a chance to do better again.
  2. Exam stress will be reduced because now everything will not depend on a one-time result.
  3. Students will get a chance for self-assessment, so that they can identify their weaknesses and improve.
  4. This will also increase the academic confidence of the students.

Is this change related to NEP 2020?

Yes, this entire change is being made under the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020). The policy clearly states that students should get opportunities to improve in the examination. It removes education from just "study and rote" and emphasizes on understanding, self-evaluation and development.

Will this system also be implemented in the 12th board?

This system has been announced only for class 10th. It is possible that if it is successful in the future, a similar system may be implemented for class 12th as well.

This decision of CBSE is a big and positive step taken in the interest of the students. Where earlier the stress of both children and parents used to be at its peak regarding the board exams, now they will get one more chance. This decision will not only make the examination process flexible, but will also improve the mental health, confidence and learning ability of the children.
