18 महीने के DA बकाया पर आई खुशखबरी, कब मिलेगा पैसा Dearness Allowance 2025
Dearness Allowance 2025 – If you are a central government employee or a pensioner, then this news can bring a smile on your face. What was expected for a long time, now work has started on it rapidly. There is talk of 18 months DA arrears, about which there was dissatisfaction among the employees for years. Now along with this, another big announcement is also coming out, which is the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission.
Dearness Allowance 2025 – When the Corona epidemic came, the government had to postpone many expenses. During the same time, Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for 18 months from January 2020 to June 2021 were stopped. The employees hoped that as soon as the situation improves, these arrears will be given.
Now in 2025, once again the employee organizations have raised this issue loudly. Recently, in the meeting of the Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM) held on 23 April 2025, the employees have reiterated this demand. They say that when they worked non-stop even during the pandemic, they must get their rights.
How much money is due?
If all the employees and pensioners are given 18 months of DA/DR arrears, it will cost the government around ₹40,000 crore. Although this amount is large, the employees say that this is their legitimate right, and it cannot be stopped.
Now talking about the 8th Pay Commission
Media reports are claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the 8th Pay Commission. This news is no less than a gift for lakhs of employees and pensioners.
The last Pay Commission i.e. 7th Pay Commission was implemented in the year 2016 and now the employees were hoping that the new Pay Commission would come before 2026 – and now that time is near.
Who will benefit?
About 36 lakh central employees and more than 65 lakh pensioners will get direct benefit from this decision. Apart from this, people receiving family pension will also be included in it. State government employees can also expect that their salary will also change after the decision of the Center.
How much will the salary increase?
The fitment factor will be increased in the 8th Pay Commission. This factor is the basis for converting the previous salary to the new salary. If the fitment factor increases from 2.28 to 2.86, then your basic salary can increase by 40 to 50 percent.
For example, suppose your current basic salary is ₹ 25,000. If the new fitment factor is 2.86, then your new basic can be up to ₹ 57,200. DA, HRA, TA and other allowances will also increase on this.
What else will change?
- Future pension will also be decided on the basis of this new salary
- PF deduction will be more, due to which you will get a huge fund after retirement
- HRA and travel allowance will also increase
- Facilities like life insurance and gratuity may also increase
Government's financial situation and challenges
The government suffered a huge financial setback during the time of Kovid. Tax collection fell, but the expenditure increased significantly. Now as the situation is becoming normal, the government is also in a position to give relief. However, this is not an easy decision for the government, because releasing such a large amount can affect the budget.
But the employee organizations clearly say that when the government can make promises of thousands of crores in the elections, then the dues of the hardworking employees should also be paid.
What will happen next?
Now that the news of the approval of the 8th Pay Commission has come, the next step will be to decide its Terms of Reference (area of work). After that the commission will start its work, which may take about 1.5 to 2 years. It is believed that this new pay scale can be implemented from 2026.
At the same time, there is still pressure on the government regarding DA arrears. Employee organizations are preparing to take this issue to the Parliament and if the government agrees, then this decision can become a big relief for lakhs of families.
If you are a central employee or a pensioner, then the coming time can bring many relief news for you. On one hand, there is a hope of getting DA arrears of 18 months, on the other hand, a big increase in both your salary and pension is certain from the 8th Pay Commission.
Now it remains to be seen how soon the government takes concrete steps on these issues. But it is certain that the demands of the employees cannot be ignored anymore.
