Haryana news: The court has sought an answer from the state government as to how it will explain how the list of Patwaris accused of corruption was leaked? This matter has now reached the High Court. In which the names of 370 Patwaris and 170 private persons are included in the list of corruption allegations.
Leak of the list and subsequent controversy
This list declaring the Patwaris as corrupt in Haryana had gone viral on social media and media some time back. After this, the affected Patwaris and private individuals filed a petition in the High Court on their behalf. The question raised in the petition is that people were declared corrupt without any official investigation.
Due to which their dignity and rights have been violated. This is a direct violation of Article 21 (Fundamental Rights) of the Constitution because it protects the rights related to life and personal liberty of citizens.
The High Court sought a reply from the government within a week
The High Court, while hearing the matter, has given one week's time to the Haryana government. The court has clearly asked which officer or employee has leaked this list and what action has been taken against that person so far. The court has called the entire matter serious and has sought full information from the state government.
Demand for independent investigation
The petitioner has said in his petition that after the list was leaked, it was published on many media channels which caused serious damage to the reputation of these people. It is wrong to declare these people corrupt without any concrete evidence and investigation.
The petitioners also requested the Court to order an independent investigation against the persons responsible for the leak so that the culprits could be held accountable.
Appeal to protect the rights of Patwaris and private individuals
The petitioners have also appealed that their rights should be protected as their image has been damaged due to the list being made public. They demanded quick and fair action from the High Court in this matter so that no one's rights are violated and justice is delivered in the right way.
