Ration Card New Update – What is the new scheme of the government?

The Government of India and various state governments run the ration card scheme to provide ration and essential food items at cheap rates to the people living below the poverty line. Now more new benefits have been added to this scheme in some states such as:

₹ 1000 cash assistance every month

  1. Other essential items of household use along with ration
  2. Facility to get benefits easily through e-KYC

What things will you get the benefit of?

According to the new system of the government, ration card holders are being given not only rice, wheat or pulses, but some other essential items are also being given along with it. Such as:

  1. Wheat, rice, pulses, salt, oil
  2. Sugar and spices (chili, turmeric, coriander powder)
  3. Bathing and laundry soap
  4. Gas refill subsidy in some states
  5. All these things have been added to provide relief to poor families so that they do not have to buy goods at expensive rates from the market and their household can run well.

Where is ₹ 1000 per month available?

The Tamil Nadu government has first decided that all ration card holders of the state will be given cash assistance of ₹ 1000 per month. This amount is transferred directly to their bank account. Its purpose is that people should not depend only on ration, but they should also get cash for small needs.

However, this scheme has not been implemented in every state yet. Every state decides as per its convenience whether it will give only ration or cash assistance to its ration card holders. So if you want to know whether this facility is available in your state or not, then you should get information from the food supply department of your district or the nearest ration dealer.

New Guideline: Now e-KYC is necessary

According to the new guidelines of the government, e-KYC of all the members associated with the ration card has been made mandatory. That is, if you have not done eKYC yet, then you may stop getting ration. This rule has been brought especially so that fake beneficiaries can be excluded from the scheme.
