Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini attended the closing ceremony of the two-day film festival organized at Maharishi Dayanand University as the chief guest. He honored the best filmmakers by giving awards on this occasion and announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh to Vishwa Samvad Kendra.
Hindi films and theatres will get a boost
Chief Minister Nayab Saini said that to promote Haryanvi films, discussions will be held with Prasar Bharati to telecast one film every week on Doordarshan. Along with this, Supwa will be given the responsibility of starting a film making course in every university.
The Chief Minister said that on the demand to revive single screen cinema in the state, the government has formed a Film Promotion Board which will work in this direction. Also, he announced that five pending applications related to film subsidy will be paid in 30 days and the process of new applications will also start soon.
