What did the Finance Ministry say-
The Finance Ministry has said that ₹ 10 and ₹ 20 notes and coins are still in circulation and being printed in the country. As of 31 December 2024, 2,52,886 lakh ₹ 10 notes were available in the market, with a total value of ₹ 25,289 crore.
As of the same date, 79,502 lakh ₹ 10 coins were also in circulation, worth ₹ 7,950 crore. This information dismisses speculation that ₹ 10 notes and coins are going out of circulation. (Indian currency)

According to the Ministry of Finance, the new 20 rupee coin will weigh 8.54 grams and have a diameter of 27 mm. The outer ring will be nickel silver and the inner part will be nickel brass.
