Monsoon News Today: The 13 days of sluggishness of monsoon is over, the speed will increase again, there will be heavy rains

Uttar Pradesh Monsoon News: This time after the premature arrival of monsoon in the country, there was an atmosphere of silence among the people due to its slow pace. People are in a bad condition due to the design. The 13-day long slow pace of monsoon is now going to increase. Monsoon can pick up speed again in the eastern northwestern areas.

Monsoon update

Uttar Pradesh Monsoon News: This time the monsoon knocked on the country ahead of time, but its slow pace created an atmosphere of confusion and silence in many states. While people were expecting regularity of rain, the pace of rain remained slow for the last 13 days, affecting both normal life and agriculture.

The monsoon may regain strength in the central, east and northwestern regions of the country around June 14, bringing relief from the scorching heat and intensifying rain activities.

After a long period of 13 days, the monsoon is now ready to move north. This was confirmed by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and private weather agency Skymet Weather Services on Tuesday. The northern boundary of the monsoon has remained stable for the last thirteen days.

The speed of the monsoon slowed down since May 29, increasing heat and humidity in many areas of North India. Currently, the monsoon boundary is up to Mumbai in the west and Sikkim-Sub Himalayan West Bengal in the east. But now the monsoon will intensify due to the seasonal system forming in the Bay of Bengal.

Skymet Chairman GP Sharma said that two persistent monsoon systems in the Bay of Bengal, one of which is likely to form now, will re-energise the rains and help the monsoon reach new areas.

An IMD official also confirmed this prediction and said that with the right weather, the monsoon may reach central and eastern India around June 14. He, however, also said that other systems are yet to be confirmed.

Monsoon will increase rapidly in these states

"A cyclonic circulation has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal, which may bring rains over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Karnataka," Sharma said. Goa and Konkan may receive heavy rains by the weekend. Another cyclone is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal on June 14, which will move through Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and intensify the monsoon progress, she said.

Less rain after arrival

The combined effect of these systems will revive the monsoon, where rainfall had reduced after its arrival, and will also cover Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, rest of West Bengal and east Madhya Pradesh. "Besides, the northern limit of monsoon will also advance in the coming days, which is likely to bring relief from the ongoing heat in north India," Sharma said. According to the IMD, "An east-west trough is forming from north Tamil Nadu to south Maharashtra coast, creating a shear zone along about 15 degrees north latitude." This will strengthen the monsoon winds and bring rain in the coming days.

Heat wave hit many places

According to IMD's bulletin on Tuesday, heat wave conditions prevailed at many places in West Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and South-West Uttar Pradesh. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in West Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

Relief from heatwave is expected in northwest India from June 13, the IMD reported. A cyclonic circulation is enhancing monsoon winds over north Odisha and adjoining areas, an official said.

Heavy rainfall is expected over south Maharashtra from June 12, and then the rest of the state. Monsoon is already active over Kerala and Karnataka and light to moderate rains will occur over the next few days.

Monsoon winds will strengthen

There has been no progress of monsoon after May 29. Monsoon did not advance on June 10 either, but it is likely to start progressing from June 14.

The present arrangement will push the monsoon westwards along the Odisha coast. Another IMD official said the westward movement of the cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal may lead to heavy rainfall, which will boost the progress of monsoon over central and east India.

“An east-west trough formed from north Tamil Nadu to south Maharashtra coast, creating a 'shear zone' along about 15°N latitude, is indicative of revival of monsoon,” he said. This will help in the progress of rains northwards in the coming days and strengthen the monsoon winds.”

When will monsoon come in UP?

Monsoon is likely to become active in Uttar Pradesh around June 14, after which light to moderate rains may occur in eastern and central parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department says that monsoon may occur across Uttar Pradesh, especially Lucknow, Varanasi and Prayagraj, from June 18 to June 20. Western Uttar Pradesh, such as Meerut and Agra, may receive rain from June 22 to June 25. Temperatures are expected to drop and heat is expected to subside.

Where will it rain?

Weather experts predict that the monsoon will advance to some more areas of central and eastern India between June 12 and June 18. During this time, it may rain in many places.

  1. Madhya Pradesh: Light to moderate rain will occur over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and some parts of Vidarbha.
  2. Northern India: There will be rain in Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal.
  3. North India: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over South Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Konkan and Goa between June 12 and June 15.

Northwest India to get respite from heat

For the last few days, there has been intense heat and heatwave conditions in northwest India, especially Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Delhi recorded a temperature of 44 degrees Celsius. With the onset of monsoon again, these areas are expected to get some relief from the heat. According to the IMD report, the monsoon may reach Delhi between June 25 and 27, i.e. a few days before June 29.
