On 12 November 1996, India's biggest plane crash so far took place near Charkhi Dadri in Haryana. In this accident, a Boeing 747 of Saudi Arabian Airlines and an Ilyushin Il-76 plane of Kazakhstan Airlines collided with each other in mid-air.
There were a total of 349 people on board both the planes, none of whom survived. This accident happened due to lack of coordination between the pilots and the Kazakhstan plane flying at the wrong height.

On 22 May 2010, an Air India Express flight coming from Dubai to Mangalore skidded off the runway while landing and crashed. This accident happened with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. 158 people died in this. It was said that this accident happened due to pilot fatigue and overshooting the runway.
Air India Express Flight 1344 (2020)
On 7 August 2020, a flight coming from Dubai to Kozhikode Airport in Kerala met with an accident during landing. Amid heavy rains, the plane slipped off the runway and broke into two parts.
21 people lost their lives in this tragic accident. This flight was being operated under the Vande Bharat Mission, in which stranded Indians were being brought back.
