UP News: The government spends a lot of money to strengthen the road network in Uttar Pradesh. This may include the construction of new roads in the state or the renovation of old dilapidated roads. Now funds have been approved for the widening of another National Highway in Uttar Pradesh.
This national highway will be made 7-7 meters wide on both sides. The work of widening the Haridwar-Kashipur National Highway has started in Bijnor.
The Public Works Department has started the measurement work from Durga Vihar Colony Road to Nagina Square. 19 crore rupees have been sanctioned for this scheme due to the efforts of MLA Ashok Kumar Rana. The road will be 7-7 meters wide on both sides.
There seems to be a jam every day
The plan to widen the Haridwar-Kashipur National Highway has started, which will pass through the middle of the city. Now the Public Works Department has started working on it.
On Tuesday, the widening of Durga Vihar Colony Road was done ahead of Nagina crossing. The National Highway passes through the middle of Dhampur.
However, an eight-kilometer bypass is also being built from Durga Vihar on Sherkot Road to Rajputana Resort on Nagina Road. But most of the traffic still goes through the middle of the city, so there is a jam.
Half meter divider
At the same time, encroachment continues on the road. For the last several years, there has been a demand to expand it, on which MLA Ashok Kumar Rana had sent a proposal to PWD, for which Rs 19 crore has been approved.
The road will be seven meters wide on both sides and there will be a half-meter divider in the middle. The process of widening has started here from Tuesday.
JE Avnish Verma of PWD Najibabad section said that letters have been sent to the departments for shifting trees and electric poles. Widening is now under consideration.
He says that after marking on both sides for widening, if someone's ramp, step or other construction comes within the road limit, then he can remove them himself. Otherwise, it will be removed when the work starts.
