Haryana: A big news has come out from Haryana. The State Election Commission Haryana has announced to conduct general and by-elections for the vacant posts of Panchayats. Notification has been issued for this. These elections will be held on 15 June 2025 in Sirsa district.

Voting will take place from 8 am to 6 pm and counting of votes will be done on the same day after the voting is over. The election results will be declared immediately after this.

As soon as the notification was issued, the model code of conduct has been implemented in the areas where elections are to be held. This means that no new scheme will be started in these areas and neither will any scheme or building be inaugurated.

In Sirsa district, 4 posts of Sarpanch, 22 posts of Panch and 3 posts of Block Committee are vacant. Elections will be held for all these posts on 15th June.

Sirsa Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (Panchayat) Shantanu Sharma informed that the nomination process will run from May 24 to May 30 (there will be holidays on May 25 and 29). 

Nomination papers can be filled from 10 am to 3 pm. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on May 31 and names can be withdrawn till June 2. On the same day, election symbols will also be given to the candidates.
