UP News: 594 km long Ganga Expressway will start in UP, know how much toll money will cost

The 594 KM long Ganga Expressway will start soon, toll rates have been decided. Know which 12 districts it will pass through and how much toll fee will have to be paid.

UP News: Vehicles will soon be seen running on the 594 km long Ganga Expressway. UP government agency UPDA has started the process of selecting a consultant company to fix the toll tax on this expressway. 

The toll rates per kilometer on the expressway for the year 2025-26 have been fixed on the basis of Wholesale Price Index (WPI). That is, no toll less than this will be charged.

Toll rates have been fixed for different types of vehicles on the Ganga Expressway. Cars, jeeps, vans and small vehicles will be charged Rs 2.55 per kilometer. 

For light commercial vehicles and minibuses, the rate will be Rs 4.05 per kilometer. Buses and trucks will be charged Rs 8.15 per kilometer, heavy construction vehicles Rs 12.55 and very large vehicles Rs 16.05 per kilometer.

If a vehicle uses the bypass, the toll rates will be as follows: small vehicles like cars will be charged 70 paise, mini buses will be charged Rs 1.05, buses and trucks will be charged Rs 2.10, heavy vehicles will be charged Rs 3.15 and very large vehicles will be charged Rs 4.15 per kilometre.

The six-lane Greenfield Ganga Expressway, which can be expanded to eight lanes in future, is being built rapidly in four sections. It will be opened to the public soon.

Toll rates will be fixed on Ganga Expressway

Preparations have started to fix toll rates on Ganga Expressway. Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority has sought proposals from experienced and qualified consultants for this. 

Toll will be calculated as per the toll rules of Uttar Pradesh. In this, different rates per kilometer will be fixed for different types of vehicles. Apart from this, rates for one-way travel, two-way travel and monthly pass will also be fixed. 

Through which districts will the expressway pass?

This expressway has been built by four different companies in PPP mode. The section from Meerut to Badaun has been built by IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited, while the remaining three sections, from Badaun to Hardoi, Hardoi to Unnao and Unnao to Prayagraj, have been built by three different companies of Adani Enterprises Limited. 

Ganga Expressway will pass through a total of 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These include Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.
