Bihar Railway: Bihar to Jharkhand railway line will be doubled, speed of trains will increase

A big step has been taken towards strengthening the railway infrastructure in Bihar. Under the new railway project, rail connectivity between the two states will be further strengthened, and for this a major railway route will be doubled, the estimated cost of which is ₹ 3063 crores.

Bihar Railway Infrastructure: Under the railway infrastructure in Bihar, rail connectivity is going to be strengthened between the two states. In order to strengthen the rail network, this railway route will be doubled for Rs 3063 crore. 

Along with making the journey from Patna to Ranchi in Bihar easier, it can now be completed in less time. The shortest rail route has been approved under the rail infrastructure in the state. Lakhs of people will benefit from the doubling of the Koderma-Barkakana railway line.

Rail connectivity between Bihar and Jharkhand will be strengthened. Doubling of Koderma-Barkakana railway line has been approved. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting. 

Doubling of this 133 km long railway line will reduce the distance between Patna and Ranchi. This is the shortest rail route from Patna to Ranchi. This will save time in travelling.

The shortest railway route between Patna and Ranchi is Koderma-Barkakana. Doubling is to be done at a cost of Rs 3,063 crore. Having two tracks on this line will increase the speed of trains. The time taken to travel from Patna to Ranchi will be reduced. Coal loading will also increase.

Lakhs of people will benefit

The shortest rail route between Ranchi and Patna is Patna-Koderma-Barkakana-Ranchi, said Saraswati Chandra, chief public relations officer of East Central Railway. 

It covers four districts of Jharkhand - Koderma, Chatra, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh. It will directly benefit about 15 lakh people and 938 villages.

Trains will run at a speed of 120

17 big bridges will be built in this project, the Chief Public Relations Officer said. Also, 42 road overbridges (ROB) and 13 road underbridges (RUB) and 180 small bridges will be built. 

He said that due to double line, 30.4 million tonnes more goods will be able to be transported on this route every year. The train will pass through this route at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
