Chhattisgarh Railway Line: By laying new railway tracks in Chhattisgarh, transportation and trade activities are being increased not only within the state but also with the neighbouring states. Under the railway infrastructure project in Chhattisgarh, a 615 km long railway line is going to be laid in the state. Chhattisgarh has received the gift of a major railway line in the month of April. This rail project is included in the top 10 rail routes of the country. 21 new railway stations will also be constructed in this project.

The rapid expansion of railway infrastructure in the state will not only provide better transportation facilities to the local citizens, but will also bring tremendous growth in the trade, industrial and mineral sector.
Khairagarh-Parmalkasa railway route in Chhattisgarh, which is 278 km long. 615 km of track will be built under the rail route. This rail project is said to be an important change in the rail network.
21 new railway stations will be built in this project, which will make the movement of the general public easier. To complete this route, 48 big bridges, 349 small bridges, 14 rail over bridges, 184 rail under bridges and rail flyovers will be built.
This is an important achievement in the development of Chhattisgarh. This will not only make the journey of the people of the state easier, but will also increase trade activities with the 8 districts related to the neighboring state.
New railway lines will be built in Chhattisgarh
Highways and expressways are being constructed to increase transportation possibilities in Chhattisgarh. Apart from road construction, railway infrastructure is also important.
The central government has fulfilled a big possibility by giving a new rail line to Chhattisgarh in April. Multitracking new railway lines will be built in the state from Khairagarh to Parmalkasa, 278 km (615 km), which will have 21 stations.
The Khairagarh-Parmalkasa new rail line will pass through Bilaspur and Raipur bypass, which is one of the top-10 railway routes in the country. This project will directly connect Chhattisgarh to Maharashtra.
This will greatly facilitate freight transportation and travel between the two states will be easy. Amrit Station like an airport will also be built on this route, which will provide state-of-the-art facilities to the passengers.
Land acquisition
New railway lines are being built in the state and Amrit stations are being built like airports. A new chapter of development is being written in the railway sector.
Additional railway lines will enable the development of the region. The expansion of railway connectivity in the region will greatly improve transport facilities. At present there is only 30% connectivity, but it is expected to increase to 60-70% in the coming time.
This change will strengthen the overall infrastructure, increase business and create employment opportunities. The people of the state will get better rail service from this.
The construction of the new Khairagarh-Parmalkasa railway line will increase the land prices of farmers significantly. The acquisition of land will bring economic benefits to the farmers and open the way to prosperity. Rs 18,658 crore will be spent on the construction of four railway multitracking projects of 615 km. This will increase connectivity and reduce logistics costs. The scheme has been targeted to be completed by the year 2030 to 31.
Station on Kharsia-Parmalkasa railway line
There are 21 stations on the Kharsia-Naya Raipur-Parmalkasa route: Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Bilaspur, Balodabazar, Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Gunderdehi, Patan, Balod, Abhanpur, Lakhauli, Nava Raipur, Dongargarh, Bhilai-Bhilai Nagar, Durg, Kargi Road, Sakti Rose Dhamtari and Parmalkasa. Local people will have easy access from these stations and small businesses will also grow around the respective stations, providing direct employment to people.
Areas of Kharsia-Parmalkasa road
The 5th and 6th lines will provide direct connectivity to the developing areas between Baloda Bazar Kharsia-Naya Raipur-Parmalkasa, which will enable the setting up of new industries and cement plants.
The construction of this 278 km line will cost Rs 8,741 crore. 21 to 38 million tonnes of cargo and eight mail, express and semi-high speed trains will run on it.
The railway line will directly connect Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Bilaspur, Baloda Bazar, Raipur, Durg and Rajnandgaon. This line includes thousands of villages and some towns, from where one can travel easily.
Design of Parmalkasa-Kharsia-Naya Raipur Railway Line
48 bridges, 349 bridges, 14 ROBs, 184 ROBs (underpasses) and 5 flyovers will be built on the Kharsia-Naya Raipur-Parmalkasa road. Logistics costs can be reduced by Rs 2520 crore compared to road transport.
Apart from this, 22 crore diesel will be saved every year, which will give economic benefits. This will not only improve the transportation of the state, but will also increase the possibilities of trade and employment with the neighboring state.
