Digital Desk: The protest of the students of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) located in Haryana's Hisar did not stop for the ninth consecutive day on Wednesday.

The protesting students rejected the university administration's attempts for talks, saying that there would be no talks until Vice Chancellor BR Kamboj resigns and two senior officials are not arrested in the June 10 lathi-charge case.

Efforts were made for talks, but the students' stance was rigid.

A three-member committee formed by the administration, which includes the university's research director Dr. Rajbir Garg, visited the protest site at Gate No. 4. They requested the students to start talks, but the student representatives flatly refused.

Students say that instead of resolving their issues, the administration is trying to divide them on the basis of caste and region. A student representative said, "The administration has sent a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Hisar accusing 19 students of preventing other students from appearing in the exams and forcibly involving them in the protest. This is part of the divisive politics being done by the Vice Chancellor."

Students raised many serious questions

Students also put many serious questions related to the night of 10 June in front of the committee-

Why was a student allegedly attacked by security guards?

  1. Why were the campus lights switched off during the ongoing protest outside the Vice Chancellor's residence?
  2. Why were senior officials like the Registrar and the Chief Security Officer seen chasing the protesters?
  3. A student also alleged that usually the hostel lights are switched off at 7:30 pm, but that day the lights were switched off earlier. Also, some faculty members kept calling the students for talks till 11 pm, which is a matter of concern from the security point of view.

What did the students say?

Students say that this protest is not just an incident but is their voice against the constant neglect and injustice. Until strict action is taken against the Vice Chancellor and the responsible officials, there is no question of retreating.
