Uttar Pradesh News: Farmers should get 4 times compensation for land acquisition in township construction in UP
UP News: The Uttar Pradesh government is rapidly developing new township projects in the state, for which the process of acquiring land from farmers is being started. The aim of these townships is not only to promote urbanization but also to provide people with a well-organized life equipped with all modern facilities.

People will get modern facilities in this township. Farmers have continuously opposed the new township plan of Varanasi.
Kisan Union President Yogi Rajsingh Patel said that the government wants to acquire land arbitrarily. According to the 2013 Land Acquisition Act, farmers have demanded four times more compensation.
The VDA has proposed to create a new municipality in Ganjari, Varanasi. Now efforts have also started to implement this plan. However, there is now opposition to this new urban township near the International Cricket Stadium.
Farmers have opposed this plan. Villagers have continued to protest in Ganjari village for the last seven days. This protest is being led by Purvanchal Kisan Union.
Yogi Rajsingh Patel, president of Purvanchal Kisan Union, said that the government and its employees want to acquire the land of farmers arbitrarily.
We do not obstruct development, but if the land of farmers is being taken according to the 2013 Land Acquisition Act, then we will not give the land to the farmers at any cost.
Local Nandlal Master said that the government wants to take land from farmers arbitrarily to widen the road for this new township scheme. The government should acquire land according to the rules and laws of our Constitution.

VDA's new urban township is being developed in an area of about 150 acres in Ganjari, Varanasi. Varanasi Development Authority will spend Rs 1300 crore on this project.
Group homes, malls, hotels, complexes and sports academies will be built in this new city. This was also approved in the 133rd meeting of the VDA board, which cleared the way for its development.
VDA will give compensation of 25 lakhs
According to the information received, the VDA has planned to give land compensation to the farmers at the rate of Rs 25 lakh per biswa under this scheme. The farmers, however, want compensation four times the circle rate as per the 2013 Land Acquisition Act.
