The name of the road is Pan-American Highway. It passes through a total of 14 countries of North and South America, which includes North American countries like Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Apart from this, this road also passes through South American countries like Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina.

30,000 kilometers in length

The length of this road is about 30,000 kilometers and it starts from a place called "Prudhoe Bay" in Alaska. The Pan-American Highway has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's longest motor road. 

It passes through different types of climate and environment. There are dense forests to dry deserts on the way. This is the reason why this road is not only long but also worth seeing.

According to reports, it takes an average of 60 days to complete the entire highway journey, but this time depends on the speed of the vehicle and where the travellers stop. For example, a traveller named Carlos Santamaria completed this entire journey in 117 days.

Since most of this road passes through countries where Spanish is spoken, people traveling on it are advised to learn basic Spanish so that they do not face any problem in communicating.

Construction of the Pan-American Highway began in the early 1920s, with the goal of promoting tourism in the U.S. In 1937, 14 countries agreed to build and maintain the road, and it was finally opened to the public in 1960.
